Our Midwifery team includes the following assistants & students:

Caitlin Balding
Caitlin is a DONA trained birth doula, midwifery assistant, and student midwife. She has been fascinated with the birthing process, especially midwifery & out of hospital birth, from a young age. After hearing her own mother’s birth experiences, Caitlin knew she wanted to pursue a career in midwifery in order to make a positive impact on maternity care. Caitlin believes women’s bodies are perfectly designed to birth, and is passionate about guiding & educating clients through the journey that is childbearing.
Caitlin completed DONA doula training in 2018 at the age of 16 & eventually decided to take the leap and begin midwifery training with Midwives College of Utah in 2021. As Caitlin has grown as a birth worker, she has found that one of her favorite aspects of midwifery care is walking alongside families’ as they welcome a new life and transition into a new season.

RN, Midwife Assistant
Lindsi Schweer
Lindsi is a registered nurse and midwife assistant. Her love of serving others and passion for birth work has grown since having her own babies. Her first was born surgically after a long, augmented labor. A couple years later, her daughter was born in the hospital after a an attempted home birth with a midwife. Her last babe was born at home, peacefully, with the support of her husband and birth team. Soon after, Lindsi decided to fully pursue birth work as a midwife assistant. Her goals are to encourage, educate, support and empower others from pregnancy to postpartum and beyond.
In previous work as a nurse, she gained experience in labor, delivery, and postpartum. Lindsi worked in the nursery and received breastfeeding education during her time in the hospital. She is certified in CPR and NRP. Informed consent and educating her patients during their labor, birth, and postpartum were of utmost importance as a nurse. However, physiological birth was a rarity and unmedicated birth seemed out of reach for patients due to interventions.
After witnessing medicalized births and unnecessary traumas, she decided to leave. Lindsi eventually found herself being trained as a midwife assistant in March 2023-November 2023.
Her goal while being an assistant is to continue to learn and gain experience while being able to delicately tend to clients in their birth journeys. Eventually, Lindsi will continue her education and become a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) and make a positive impact in maternal healthcare.
During her downtime, Lindsi enjoys being outdoors and traveling with her family. Hiking has been a favorite activity along with biking, kayaking, skiing, horseback riding, fishing, and playing sports. Health and fitness have always been a top priority along with nutrition. She adores animals and nature, loves God, and is rooted in her faith. Lindsi’s strongest qualities are her incredible ability to listen and empathize with others and always helping with a smile. Her belief is that birth is a miraculous and sacred experience that truly changes a woman into a mother. This great feat should be honored, protected, and celebrated with a birth team you can
trust.
You can reach Lindsi by email, or call/text (580)336-8203 to set up a consultation.
